The solo show by Play Is Soul Food opens 23rd of May at Sala Juárez: LARVA, Centro Historico, Guadalajara, JAL. The exhibition features a combination of large and medium scale mixed medium drawings, paintings, collages and fine art prints. The works will be displayed until 29th of May.

In the exhibition ‘Play Dirty’, Ivonne Adel- Bureos (a.k.a Play Is Soul Food) has created works that challenge the senses and broaden the understanding on what ‘Play’ really means in todays societies and cultures.

The collection mixes traditional and contemporary techniques and materials that leave you seeing and feeling the complex layers we have as humans; in our cultures, societies, and the sexes. The creative style is raw and expressive, which invites the viewer to experiment what we think we already know, and encourages to exercise the imagination.

Raised in Scotland, and worked and lived in many cities around the world, Play Is Soul Food returned to Mexico to explore further the meaning and understanding of printmaking.

The ’Play Dirty’ solo art exhibition will surprise visitors with traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques and processes, accompanied with a couple surprise collaborations with Satterugly & Maria Soledad Hernandez.
